I was terrified...

When this pandemic hit I found myself alone in our music venue with all our shows having now been canceled and my heart terrified, trying to make sense of what to do. Our whole life’s work has been built around gathering people and overnight we discovered that we now live in a very different world.

I sat there in the big empty room deep in thought. The song that Mike Oshiro and I had written 30 years ago came to mind. The song quotes a phrase that Jesus had said, “Peace Be With You” I most definitely needed that peace so I started to sing the song. Then I got inspired and and I went and turned on the theatre lights and sang it over and over to the big empty space but I think I was mostly singing it to myself.

My friend Melaney, who is always very perceptive has told me many times that I just need to post songs on social media and let people connect however they want to, so I nervously posted it. People did respond. Wow! The encouragement I received when I saw how the song encouraged others was sustaining and inspiring. Many were very touched and they asked for more! So, the last week I announced that I would be doing a Facebook LIVE sing-a-long event and again many joined me online for an all request hour of Rise Up songs. (Rise Up was the inspirational music band that I was in from 1987 - 1994)

So It looks like there is the interest for more and I will be doing several of these Live online music events. The next one is scheduled for Friday April 3 at 2PM.
